The religious brothers and sisters of the IVE would like to thank all those who have participated in the World Youth Day Pilgrimage this past summer. Throughout the 30 days, the pilgrims learned to become exceptional witnesses of the faith for Jesus Christ and his Mystical Body, the Church. Not only did they grow spiritually through the Holy Mass, or in the daily recitation of various Christian prayers, they were also formed humanly, in the realization of the fact that God has made man "in His own image and likeness" and what He created was good; apostolically, because they learn to love, live, and spread the Gospel; and even intellectually, because of the history and the culture they've experienced in four different countries! In short, WYD was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the young Church to encounter her Glorious Bridegroom, Jesus Christ Himself. Special thanks to all those who've made this trip possible, including the priests, religious, families, friends, and benefactors.
World Youth Day (WYD) is a worldwide encounter with the Pope which is typically celebrated every three years in a different country. WYD is open to all young people who want to take part in a festive encounter with their contemporaries centered on Jesus Christ. This event is an opportunity to experience in first person the universality of the Church; to share with the whole world the hope of many young people who want to commit themselves to Christ and others.
