Investiture of Habits

The day after in which the Universal Church commemorated the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, the Religious Family of the Incarnate Word also celebrated the joyous occasion in which five novices from the male branch and fourteen novices from the female branch received their religious habits. Mass was presided at the Crypt of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception 

Some of the family members of the newly invested brothers travel from as far as Canada and California in order to partake in this significant part of the formation of these newly aspiring priest. His Eminence, in the homily, reminded the novices that for a religious the habit is to be ones second skin; something Fr. Carlos Miguel Buela, IVE Founder, is known for in reminded his seminarians and priest. Reception was held at the parish hall of St. John Baptist de la Salle, where about 450 guest, some of which contributed to the festive delight of the evening fogon (songs and entertainment), there were some blue grass songs, country, and folksongs from Asia, Mexico and Argentina. A thanks to all who were able to be present at the Investiture, both during Mass and/or reception, and thanks to all those who could not attend, but supports the Institute of the Incarnate Word through prayers.
