Visit to the Monastery of Saint Mina.
Recently Fr. Jason Jorquera, IVE monk and missionary in the Holy Land, arrived in Egypt.
Together with Fr. Enrique González, IVE, he was able to visit the monastery of Saint Mina. 120 monks live in this monastery, and they give work to some 1000 people; they help us materially with food once a month and offered to frame the pictures that preside over our church in King Mariout – Alexandria.
In turn, for the small shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, they helped us with wood from their carpentry.
After the visit, Fr. Enrique and Fr. Jason told us with what generosity and charity the monks had attended them, inviting them to the refectory dedicated to visiting priests, and serving them a generous lunch.
As Saint Luis Orione affirmed: “Only charity will save the world”. This charity is nothing other than God himself, according to the words of the Apostle Jesus loved: “God is love” (1 Jn 4:8. 16) As the Church sings on Holy Thursday at the moment of the washing of the feet: “Ubi Caritas Est Vera, Deus Ibi Est”. Where charity is true, there is God. We pray for all the contemplatives of the whole world, that with their silent surrender to God, they may cooperate with him for the salvation of the world.
