Popular Missions
None of us goes to the mission of our own accord, but because we are sent as the apostles were: “as the Father has sent me, so I send you” (Jn 20:21). This is the fundamental vision of faith that cannot be lacking in any missionary. Ours is not a human effort, it is not a work of propaganda, but a supernatural work. We go, and we are ready to go, to the most difficult places, trusting in Our Lord Jesus who says to us: “as the Father sent me into the world for the salvation of men, even so I am sending you”, therefore we throw ourselves into the missionary adventure in the name of the Lord, not for sociological reasons, or statistical, social or political reasons, but because he sends us: “lower your nets” (Lk 5, 4).

A few photos and some history of the church
Kazan is a city of almost a million and a half inhabitants, the majority of whom are Muslim, approximately 51%, the rest is divided between Russian Orthodox and Jews. The Catholic Church in these parts is reviving. Currently we have only one church and 400 faithful in our care, but by the grace of God that moves hearts, these are steadily increasing. The two priests in charge of this mission are Fr. Andrei Startsev, Russian by nationality, and the one who is writing, Father Gabriel Vergani, Argentinian.
