Romans 8:38-39 Dear Resound Subscribers, As we approach the end of May, the month of our Heavenly Mother, we wanted to provide more information about the Marian Consecration. We give thanks to God for this fruitful month of prayer and meditation on St. Louis Marie de Montfort’s True Devotion to Mary! During these difficult days of worldwide quarantine, it has been a blessing to use this time fruitfully to deepen our faith in our Blessed Mother who leads us to Her Son, our Redeemer. If you would like to make or renew the Marian Consecration at this time, we invite you to either email us at [email protected] with your name and location (city, state, country). Or you can fill out the form available at https://www.iveamerica.org/consecration-to-mary-on-may-31-2020/ We will reply (to the email or form) with the St. Louis de Montfort formula of the consecration in a certificate form. Therefore, you will be able to print out the document on your own and sign it on May 31st. You could save this certificate and frame it at home in order to help remember this Marian Consecration. Also, on Sunday May 31st, Pentecost, an IVE priest will offer Holy Mass for those making the Marian Consecration. Therefore, we will compile the names of those making the consecration in order to remember them at the altar, entrusting them to Jesus through Mary. In order to prepare for the day of Marian Consecration, St. Louis Marie recommends to “go to confession and Holy Communion with the intention of consecrating to Jesus through Mary as his slaves of love.” After receiving communion, recite the Act of Consecration, and sign it on that day. If you are not able to receive communion or go to confession, we recommend that you still prayerfully recite the formula of consecration at the conclusion of the preparation (May 31st). Then, as soon as you are able, you should make a good confession and receive Holy Communion with the intention of the Marian Consecration. Also, if you are able, it is recommended to make the consecration in a church. Also, St. Louis Marie recommends on the day of the consecration to make an offering of tribute to Jesus and his Mother such as an act of self-denial, the gift of alms, or the offering of a votive candle or flowers. Finally, the Marian Consecration should be renewed at least once each year. It might be renewed each month or even every day with a short prayer: “I am all yours and all I have is yours, O dear Jesus, through Mary, your holy Mother.” (True Devotion 227-233) Be assured of the prayers of the members of the Religious Family of the Incarnate Word for all those who have been making the preparation. Know that you are united with many others throughout the world who have been using this time to make and renew with fervor their Marian Consecration. As we conclude this preparation, we also ask for the intercession of the “Apostle of Mary” who courageously led us into the Third Millennium, St. John Paul II. He faithfully followed the method of St. Louis Marie de Montfort, which he said was an integral part of his interior life and his spirituality. His motto and his last written words were Totus Tuus.
